Walking through the streets of London a few years ago armed with my compact camera, I saw this picturesque scene of shafts of light emerging between the trees of Bedford Square Garden, close to Tottenham Court Road.

Summer in Scotland and the weather was perfect. This one is reminiscent of the screensaver image for MS Vista from several years ago.
This image was created by stitching two images together to create the more panoramic 2:1 aspect ratio. It very much reminds me of an image I would have captured on my Horseman SW612 or Noblex 150 UX
Shot for the Day (18 September 2017)
This was the road to nowhere I found whilst walking around the hills of Harris. It was close to a tiny enclave called Meavaig, on the way back from Hushinish. This was the last of the sun for a few days, which was a shame as the island looked incredible under blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

Last shot in the sequence from the previous weekend in Devon. An interesting outcrop of rocks, jutting into the sea, replete with seaweed on the Jurassic coast. This shot was taken facing south, with the sun setting 90 degrees to my right. The gentle evening colours were caught in the lower clouds on the horizon.

Stormy weather ahead.
The last vestiges of light were visible in the opalescent sky. Shortly after this shot was taken, the heavens opened and the rain did not stop for the next two days.
Believe it or not, this was taken on a very popular beach in Devon, just at a very unpopular time (i.e. moments before a torrential rain storm). Definitely worth it!

Another shot from La Palma island. This one was taken close to a place called El Pinar, at around 1500m in the dense pine forests that are often shrouded in cloud. This long exposure shows the clouds rolling in, covering the forest and hill tops in the distance.
Apparently, there is a specific species of pine tree on the Canary islands, called Pinus canariensis. These Canary Island Pine trees can grow up to 50 meters tall and have large cones (up to 30cm).
Shot for the Day (16 April 2017)
Another dawn over the east coast of La Palma. This secluded beach at Cancajos was abandoned as the tides were pretty rough and the weather was a cool sixteen degrees Celsius. This place is a Mecca for anyone who loves dawn at a civilised hour. It is in the same time zone as the UK but is sufficiently west, so instead of sunrise at 6.30am it was at 8am.
I took the second image about 25 metres to the left of this image, just as the sun broke through the clouds.
Shot for the Day (24 March 2017)
Machu Picchu at dawn, taken back in 2007 on my medium format film camera. This image is around the same size as the actual transparency. There were a lot more people there but most of them were standing in a line next to me taking a similar shot to me.
If you have not seen Machu Picchu, it is one of those special places you should try to see in your lifetime, especially if you are able to trek to it along the Inca trail.
